I am Lex Brukovskiy, and I am appealing to you on behalf of my nation: the freedom, the lives, and the people of Ukraine.
I moved to Canada from Lviv, Ukraine, in 1995, and years later, my life brought me to St. Mary's Bay, Nova Scotia. Although I am now an independent lobster harvester, I must leave my fishery to do my part against Putin's aggression.
The people of Ukraine cannot win alone: We need Atlantic Canada, North America, and the whole world to protect the idea of freedom.
Ukraine has heart and it will fight, but Putin's ambitions are dark, and day by day, his bombs are destroying my peaceful country.
As he is ruthlessly attacking innocent women and children, we need your help to carry food, water and medicine to the front lines.
At the same time, we must do our part to evacuate, house, feed and employ the most vulnerable.
This is not a bad dream in a country that is far away, this is happening to my people, today, in Europe.
Help me, help Ukraine.
